Art Class offered in December

The time for this class has changed. Please see the correct time below.

Art Class
Monday, December 6, 2010
375 Green Ridge Road, New Oxford

It is my hope to start teaching ongoing art classes from my home near Cross Keys beginning in January. Classes will be once a month and you will be able to pick and choose which classes to attend and pay as you go.

To kick off, I will be offering a Christmas Crafting Class in December. I don’t want to reveal too much because the craft could be used as a Christmas gift. We will start the class by doing a picture study (art appreciation that can be put in your portfolios) and then move into the crafting time.

1:30-3:00 Ages 9yrs -16yrs
Ages 5yrs - 8yrs - The 5 to 8 year olds will be combined with the older group for this December Class.

If you have children who are borderline age, you may use your discretion in determining which class would be best suited for your child. If you have more than one child and would like all your children to be in the same class - again, use your discretion. I am flexible.

Please let me know you are coming by Friday, December 3.
Specify if you are attending the younger or older class. This helps me when purchasing and preparing the correct amount of supplies for everyone.

The cost for class:
1 child from a family/$6 per child
2 kids from one family/$5 per child
3 or more kids from one family/$4 per child

Class fees include instruction and materials.

Christmas Classic Short Stories

December 14-18, 2009
1-4pm

Each day we will focus on a different short story by a classic author that is in tune with the season. Subject areas to be covered this week are literature, poetry, history, compostion, art, art appreciation, music and possibly health and nutrition. At the end of the week, children will have a notebook to share with relatives over the holidays.

Parents do not have to stay during the class. As a matter of fact, with all the other stuff you have to do this week before Christmas, I encourage you to go and get it done. Even if you just need to go back to your house and take a bubble bath. That's fine.

Cost will be $15 per day or $60 for the week per child.
If you are a CHESS member, the cost will be $10 per day or $40 for the week per child.
Fee includes all materials and a small snack each day (please let me know of any allergies ahead of time).

Space is limited. A $10 nonrefundable deposit will be required to hold your space when you RSVP.

Possible authors
Louisa May Alcott
Leo Tolstoy
O Henry
Laura Ingalls Wilder
Robert Frost
